Ovatsug Figueiredo is a Brazilian visual artist working across expanded painting, pictorial edification, and material research. His practice investigates painting as a physical and temporal body in which matter, color, gravity, accumulation, fracture, and time actively participate in the formation of the work. Rather than representing instability from a distance, he incorporates it into the material logic of painting itself.

Ovatsug Figueiredo é um artista visual brasileiro cuja prática transita entre pintura expandida, edificação pictórica e pesquisa material. Seu trabalho investiga a pintura como um corpo físico e temporal no qual matéria, cor, gravidade, acumulação, fratura e tempo participam ativamente da formação da obra. Em vez de representar a instabilidade à distância, o artista a incorpora à própria lógica material da pintura.

Pictorial Edification is a practice-based proposition for understanding how painting becomes organized through the interaction of matter, color, time, physical forces, perception, and artistic decision. It shifts attention from what painting represents to how painting constitutes itself as a material and pictorial body.
A Edificação Pictórica é uma proposição baseada na prática para compreender como a pintura se organiza através da interação entre matéria, cor, tempo, forças físicas, percepção e decisão artística. O conceito desloca a atenção daquilo que a pintura representa para a maneira como ela se constitui como corpo material e pictórico.
